I belong to a great knitting group. We originally met in a little yarn shop. When it closed, we started taking turns hosting Knit Night our homes. This week was my turn! Lucy and Molly were my junior hostesses. They once again did great when greeting new people in our home. No barks, no uneasy behavior. Older dogs are more chilled out. The only thing I need to look for when we entertain is Molly's love of napping under guests' dining chairs. I don't want her to get hurt when it's time for people to push their chair back.
We recently went on a trip to San Antonio. Molly and Lucy stayed with their Richmond Animal League foster parents. While it was sad to leave them, we knew that they were well taken care of, and would be less stressed than being left in a kennel. When we were leaving San Antonio, I noticed something in the airport gift shop. Teeny Sombreros! When I pulled them out of my bag to show my husband, he sighed, "Those poor dogs..." So here is a slideshow of of our trip, The dog's vacation, and a Photoshopped fiesta picture of the dogs with their sombreros. The dogs were in our yard, I added a fiesta themed backdrop. We had house guests this weekend. Paul and Kerry-old, dear friends, stayed with us and were the first people to meet Molly and Lucy. I wasn't sure how the pups would do with strangers in the house. They did great! Not a stitch of guard dog here. Lots of blogs cover how to introduce guests to new dogs, so we won't add to their advice. Since these dogs have yet to meet a stranger, we really wouldn't be able to offer useful advice.
